Sitting above Nicola's TV at home is a collection of tin robots that stare out over the living room prepared to defend the room against intruders. These robots inpired a series of early ceramic forms that sold quite successfully but Nicola was never content with these forms as she thought them too static and lifeless. 3 years later the robot theme was revisited, this time each piece attempted to recreate an aspect of everyday life; pregnancy and children playing for example. Rockets came about after playing with submarine forms, turning them through 90 degrees suggested to Nicola rocket ships and that as they say was that!
